How ToAdd Custom Layers to your Video

Adding layers to your videos allows you to add property details and design elements to customize the design of your video.

GETTING STARTED

Creating a simple slideshow is easy with Rela's Video Maker. But what if you want to add property details, logos, icons, and images to your video? That's were custom layers come in.

To add custom layers to your video, just click the Add Layers to Slide button in the top toolbar. This will open to show you the different layer types that you can add.

LAYER TYPES

  • Text layers allow you to add custom text to your video. You can change the text size, font family, color, and format.
  • Icons & Shapes are great for adding additional visual elements. You can change the size the color of these icons and shape layers.
  • Agent Info - Click this option to add listing agent's contact info and headshot.
  • Logo - This option will show a list of logos that are associated with the attached agents. Click
  • Image Layers - Use this option to add additional property images to the slide. This is a useful option if you would like to add multiple property images to a slide instead of displaying a single background image.
  • Video Layers -  Use this option to add a video clip to your slide. Learn more about Video Clips here.

LAYER POSITION AND SIZE

You can position any of the layers by drag-and-drop. Text layers can be resized using the font-size settings in the layer toolbox. All other layers can be resized by dragging any of the corners.

To adjust the stacking order of any layer, click the Arrange button in the layer toolbox.

ANIMATING LAYERS

To animate a layer, click the click the Transition settings icon in the layer toolbox, then choose the desired animation from the list. When you click on any animate, the selected layer will run the animation preview on the design canvas. All layers are set to Fade-In by default, so feel free to change the animations to be best fit your design.

BRANDED & UNBRANDED LAYERS

If you plan on exporting an unbranded version of your listing promo video, you'll want to make sure you identify which layers should be hidden. You'll most likely want to hide any layers that show the listing agents contact info or branding (like logos and headshots), but you can choose to hide any layer on the unbranded version.

To hide a layer from the unbranded version, just click the Hide from unbranded option in the layer toolbox.

SHOW LAYERs ACROSS MULTIPLE SLIDES

You can configure layers to display across all slides by selecting the Apply element to all slides in the layer toolbox.

Here are a few examples of when you would use this option:

  • You want to create a Lower Thirds title bar that shows the listing address throughout the duration of the video.
  • You want to place the logo and agent name throughout the duration of the video

When you set the layer to show on all slides, you'll have the option to set the layer as an Overlay or Underlay. These options simply set the stacking order of these layers. We recommend setting text layers to Overlay, and any background shape layers to Underlay.

If you don't want to show the Overlay/Underlay layers on a specific slide, you can select the Hide on Unbranded Version option in the Clip Settings toolbar to on the left.
